The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the brutal murder and robbery of businessman Joseph Mutangadura (67)at Mutangadura Hideout, Ruwa, in August this year.
Police spokespersons confirmed the arrest of Phillip Mutasa, who was tracked down by detectives from the CID Homicide unit in Mkoba Six, Gweru, on October 3, 2025.
Mutasa is accused of being part of a gang that attacked and killed Mutangadura at his hideout along Dunstan Road, Ruwa, on August 17, 2025.
According to police, the suspect has implicated seven accomplices who remain at large. Law enforcement authorities say efforts are underway to bring the fugitives to justice.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, police in Bulawayo confirmed the arrest of three suspects linked to a series of robbery cases in the city. The suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
ZRP has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and assist with information that could lead to the arrest of outstanding suspects involved in the Ruwa murder case
