Zimbabwean Diasporans Accuse Qoki Zindlovukazi Founder of Land Investment Fraud

Hundreds of Zimbabweans living abroad say they have lost millions of dollars in land investment schemes linked to Qoki Zindlovukazi, an initiative spearheaded by businesswoman Sithule Tshuma.

The organisation, which has more than 500 members mainly from the UK, Australia, France, South Africa, and other nations, was formed to pool funds for land and property projects in Bulawayo and surrounding areas.

Disputes have emerged over residential stands in Douglasdale, Woodville, Burnside, Nyamandlovu, Esigodini, and plots along the Joshua Mqabuko International Airport Road.

Several investors allege that Tshuma bought land at inflated prices using their contributions and has failed to hand over title deeds, delaying the construction of homes.

Sukoluhle Munduru told The Chronicle she had invested a total of US\$54,160 across multiple projects, including US\$9,000 for a five-hectare plot along Airport Road and US\$17,500 for a stand in Reigate — yet she has received no deeds.

Another investor, Yolanda Nyathi, claimed she and others paid US\$1,080,000 for Rouxdale Farm on the Bulawayo–Nkayi Road, only to discover it had been bought for US\$450,000.

She also alleged doctored documents and inflated sale prices for other properties.

Virginia Mutevere said she contributed to housing stands, a fuel station, a college, and a produce market, but has not been able to develop any of the properties.

She added that she invested in a proposed bank project in South Africa but was refunded only her initial US\$2,500.

Responding to the allegations, Tshuma maintained that all purchases were legitimate and delays were due to the lengthy process of developing virgin land.

She said refunds could only be made once the land in question was resold, and insisted that most investors still supported the projects.

She also stated that UK police had cleared her of wrongdoing in July.
