Nyathi Family Sues Content Creator Louisa After Explosive Podcast Claims

Popular social media personalities Gilbert and Joyce Nyamhanhindi, widely known as the Nyathi Family, have taken legal action against fellow content creator Louisa following allegations she made during an appearance on DJ Ollah’s podcast.

The couple, through their South Africa-based lawyers Mahuntsi Attorneys Incorporated, filed papers on January 10, 2026, a day after Louisa appeared on the podcast. They accuse her of spreading false and damaging claims about their marriage, which they say have harmed their reputation and caused emotional distress.

During the podcast, Louisa alleged that Gilbert Nyamhanhindi was involved in an extramarital affair and claimed he was exposed at a lodge in South Africa. She further alleged that Joyce Nyamhanhindi, also known as Mai Nyathi, had confided in her about contracting a sexually transmitted infection from her husband.

In a letter of demand, the Nyathi family’s lawyers rejected the claims as defamatory and invasive. They gave Louisa 72 hours to withdraw all related content, issue a public apology, and publish a full retraction on the same platforms where the allegations were made.

The lawyers warned that failure to comply would result in legal action for defamation, crimen injuria, and breaches of privacy under South African law, including POPIA and the Protection from Harassment Act.

The lawsuit comes after the couple jointly dismissed similar allegations during a live broadcast, where they claimed leaked voice notes circulating online were fabricated using artificial intelligence. The Nyathi family says the legal move is meant to protect their image and brand as family-focused content creators.
