Moor’s World of Sport (MWOS) made an unforgettable entrance into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL), securing a landmark 1-0 win over Highlanders in their maiden top-flight appearance at Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro on Sunday, February 2.
The decisive moment came just after the hour mark when Salif Cheya pounced on a defensive mix-up involving Highlanders goalkeeper Raphael Pitisi and his backline, calmly slotting the ball home from close range.
Elsewhere, Dynamos and ZPC Kariba played out a goalless draw at Rufaro, while CAPS United—one of Zimbabwe’s football giants—settled for a 1-1 stalemate against Green Fuel at the Green Fuel Arena on Saturday.
The weekend’s action also saw three other teams claim victories. Scottland edged Triangle United 1-0 on Friday, Herentals College secured a 2-1 win over TelOne on Saturday, and Manica Diamonds narrowly defeated Yadah 1-0. The rest of the fixtures ended in draws.
