Munowenyu Declines Central Committee Consideration, Reaffirms Commitment to Health Sector

Discovery Ambulance Services founder, David Munowenyu, has turned down potential consideration for a Central Committee position in ZANU PF, saying his focus remains on strengthening Zimbabwe’s health delivery system through the Presidential Emergency Medical Scheme (PEMS).

Munowenyu said he was humbled by the encouragement and confidence shown in him but stressed that his calling was rooted in service through emergency medical response.

“Should an opportunity arise, I must respectfully decline at this time. My heart remains firmly rooted in the work we are doing through Discovery Ambulance Services under PEMS. I believe this is where I can make the most impactful contribution — by standing with our revolutionary party ZANU PF, our communities, responding to emergencies, and strengthening our national health response in alignment with the Vision 2030 ‘health for all’ agenda,” Munowenyu said.

He emphasized that his decision was not a rejection of the honor extended to him but rather a reflection of his sense of duty.

“Our work through PEMS is not about recognition or ambition; it is about saving lives and making a lasting impact in the lives of ordinary Zimbabweans,” he added.

Munowenyu reiterated his commitment to serve the nation with “humility, integrity, and patriotism,” urging collective efforts towards national prosperity under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
