Chawonza Takes Over as Dynamos Chairperson After Board Shake-Up

Vincent Chawonza has been named the new chairperson of Dynamos FC following the announcement of a fresh executive committee by club owner Bernard Marriott.

Chawonza, who enjoys strong support among DeMbare supporters, takes over after the dismissal of Moses Maunganidze and his entire board earlier this week.

The newly constituted executive includes Spencer Chihota as vice chairperson, Devine Sena as secretary general, Desmond Bvute heading marketing and media, and Batson Nkoma as chief executive officer.

David Chikomo, who remains a committee member, and Justice Mubayi, retained as honorary treasurer, are the only officials to keep their positions from the dissolved executive.

In a statement, Marriott expressed confidence in the new leadership, saying their combined skills and experience would be crucial as the club confronts future challenges and pursues its strategic goals. He added that Dynamos FC is optimistic that the executive committee’s stewardship will play a key role in shaping the club’s long-term success.

Background information on the appointees shows that Sena is a former Dynamos and Motor Action left-back, Chihota previously served as technical director at Mbare-based Inter-Harare Academy, Bvute is the proprietor of a local solar energy company, while Nkoma is a director at a security firm.

The appointments are set to take effect from January 1.
