South African public figure Inno Morolong has asked the public to respect her privacy after private videos allegedly featuring her began circulating online without her permission.
In a statement released on August 11, 2026, Morolong said she neither consented to the recording of the videos nor authorised their publication or distribution. She described the ongoing spread of the material across social media and other online platforms as a serious breach of her privacy.
The videos have been doing rounds on various social media platforms and WhatsApp groups, despite Morolong’s request that the public stop sharing them.
According to Morolong, the incident has left her with considerable emotional and reputational damage. She stressed that being a public figure does not take away her right to privacy, dignity and personal boundaries.
She also revealed that the leak has not only affected her but has spilled over into her family’s life, leaving her household caught up in the fallout of the circulation.
Morolong confirmed that her lawyers have already taken up the matter and are working to establish the identities of the individuals allegedly responsible for recording, publishing or distributing the videos.
She issued a warning to anyone continuing to share, repost, sell or distribute the material, saying those found to be involved could face legal consequences.
She urged members of the public not to download, store or circulate the content, as doing so could make them part of the problem.
In closing, Morolong appealed for privacy and respect while her legal representatives pursue the matter.
The incident adds to a growing number of cases in which individuals — public figures and private citizens alike — have had intimate or private material circulated without their consent, raising renewed conversations about digital privacy and the legal consequences of sharing such content.
