An Inyathi based man gripped with cruel and evil intentions burgled into a house and stole cash before s*xually assault the victim.
Court records state that the man (23) was remanded in custody on allegations of aggravated indecent assault and theft by the Tredgold Magistrates Court.
NPA said, “The accused, Elias Mpofu, is due to be back in court on 18 September 2025.
“Charges against the accused emanated from an incident at Kennilworth.”
Reports state that on 31 August 2025, at around 2000 hours, he forced open the complainant’s door.
“While inside, he took the complainant’s two cellphones and cash amounting to USD600.
“He then tied the complainant’s hands, removed the complainant’s underwear and inserted his fingers inside the complainant’s private parts before leaving the scene,” said NPA.
The stolen property, valued at USD 820, was recovered, and bail was denied.
