A daily routine for two teenagers, riding on their ox-driven scotch cart, ended in tragedy when the cart rammed into a tree, resulting in the death of one of the occupants.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the incident occured on 27 June 2025 along a dust road in Featherstone.
“A 10-years-old juvenile died when an ox-drawm scotch cart with one passenger on board, which was being led by a 15-years old male juvenile hit a tree and overturned once,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
He said the victim sustained head injuries and died upon admission at Chivhu General Hospital.
