Zimbabwean musician and entrepreneur Teemak (Taona Oswald Chipunza) has made a triumphant return to music with his new EP, “Mavambo,” which translates to “new beginnings.
The six-track EP features emotionally raw singles like “Painful” and “Something Special” and explores themes of growth, regret, and renewal.

At the EP’s launch at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Teemak premiered the music video for “Mavambo” and spoke candidly about his past mistakes, including a forex trading scandal that rocked his career.
He acknowledged his immaturity and mistakes, stating, “I was 23, immature, and blinded by the hype.
Now older and more focused, I have learned some painful lessons.”
Teemak emphasized that his return to music is permanent, declaring, “I’m here to stay.
Music isn’t just a hobby anymore, it’s a calling.” The event was attended by notable figures, including Agga Nyabinde from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and Zimdancehall artist Enzo Ishall, with whom Teemak is working on future collaborations.
The visuals for “Mavambo” were shot in Nigeria with top-tier directors, and Teemak hopes this new chapter in his career will be a lasting one.
