Simba Bhora Held by Scottland as FC Platinum Sink Highlanders

Simba Bhora remained on top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League log despite being held to a goalless draw by Scottland in Saturday’s Matchday 28 fixtures.

 

The reigning champions struggled to break down a disciplined Scottland defense at Wadzanai Stadium, but the point was enough to maintain a two-point cushion at the summit with six games left in the season.

 

Meanwhile, Ngezi Platinum Stars closed the gap on the leaders after a 2-0 victory over ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga Stadium. Goals from Talent Chamboko and Marvelous Mukumba, scored in each half, ensured Madamburo tightened the title chase, reducing the deficit to six points.

 

Elsewhere, Chicken Inn returned to winning ways by brushing aside Kwekwe United 2-0, while Manica Diamonds edged Greenfuel 2-1 in Mutare to keep their push for continental football alive.

 

At Mandava Stadium, FC Platinum boosted their top-four hopes with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Highlanders, courtesy of a second-half strike by Junior Selemani.

 

The capital city derby at Rufaro Stadium produced little excitement as Herentals and CAPS United settled for a stalemate in a drab 0-0 contest.

 

In other matches, MWOS extended their resurgence with a 1-0 away win at TelOne, while Bikita Minerals earned a vital three points after edging Yadah by the same scoreline.
