MP Kuka Donates Cement and Cultural Instruments to Budiriro B College

Mkoba South Member of Parliament Hon. JK Kuka on Thursday donated two tonnes of cement to Budiriro B College in Mkoba South Constituency to support ongoing construction projects at the school.

The donation is part of the MP’s continued engagement with local development initiatives aimed at improving education infrastructure. In addition to the cement, Hon. Kuka also provided a traditional music kit — including drums, magagada, and hosho — to help implement the revised education curriculum that promotes cultural learning and heritage.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Hon. Kuka urged school administrators to work closely with the community to address pressing social challenges, particularly drug and substance abuse among young people.

“There is a need for a united front between schools, parents, and the broader community to combat the scourge of drug abuse. Our schools must be centres not only of learning but also of values,” he said.

The event was attended by local leaders, including Ward 8 Councillor Manyanga and Ward 7 Councillor Marufu, as well as members of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Committee, who showed support for the MP’s efforts.

The donation is the latest in a series of community-focused interventions by Hon. Kuka, who has been actively involved in supporting schools and promoting cultural education throughout Mkoba South.
