Zimbabwean socialite and comedian Mai TT has been given a 12-hour ultimatum to retract a series of online posts allegedly defaming businesswoman Ziwange-Jere, or face potential legal consequences.
In a formal cease-and-desist letter, Ziwange-Jere’s legal representatives demanded a full, unconditional retraction of the statements, along with a public expression of regret. They claim that Mai TT’s remarks caused extensive reputational damage both locally and internationally.
“Our client has significant national and international business relationships. The false accusations, which have circulated widely, have seriously harmed her standing and undermined her most valuable asset — her reputation,” the letter stated.

Although some of the offending posts and comments were later removed, the legal team argues that the content’s digital trace continues to cause harm.
“The statements in question are malicious, harmful, and defamatory. The damage persists, even if some content has been taken down,” the lawyers wrote.
The letter further accused Mai TT of “sadfishing,” a term describing the use of emotional posts to elicit sympathy from followers, and of using Ziwange-Jere’s name to settle personal scores with third parties.
“The nature of your social media commentary suggests you are using our client to wage a proxy war against individuals with whom you have prior conflicts. Our client will not tolerate being used in this manner,” the letter reads.
Should Mai TT fail to meet the stated demands within the given timeframe, legal proceedings are expected to follow.
