Harare, Zimbabwe – The legal net appears to be tightening around Hezy Motors, a company now facing severe repercussions for a growing number of fraud allegations. In a clear sign of escalating legal action, one of Hezy Motors Logistics’ vehicles was recently auctioned by LM Auctioneers for US$7,100.
The auctioneer confirmed that this vehicle is part of a fleet being sold off as a direct result of an ongoing court case involving the company, indicating that Hezy Motors is indeed facing serious problems.
Further compounding their woes, employees of Hezy Motors were arrested on Wednesday by the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Commercial Crimes Division (CCD) due to the increasing number of cases reported against the company. The arrests, which included three women and one man, saw them detained at Rhodesville Police Station, with their laptops and phones confiscated as evidence. They were subsequently taken to court, though the outcome of those proceedings is still awaited.
Adding another dramatic twist to the unfolding saga, reports claim that Hazel Mafu, a key figure in Hezy Motors, has allegedly fled the country and is now believed to be in Tanzania. Her alleged departure coincides with the intensified police action, raising further questions about the company’s operations and the extent of the alleged scams.
Authorities are strongly encouraging anyone who has been affected or scammed by Hezy Motors to report their cases to either the CCD Central or CCD Headquarters if they have not yet done so. This call to action underscores the police’s commitment to building a comprehensive case and ensuring justice for all victims. The seizure of assets, arrests of employees, and the alleged flight of a director collectively paint a picture of a company where alleged impunity is rapidly giving way to legal accountability.
