Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) have arrested Mukudzei Chitsama, a 27-year-old hip-hop artist widely recognized as Holy Ten, following severe allegations of sexual assault. The musician was taken into custody this week regarding claims that he raped a 14-year-old girl in the Hatfield suburb of Harare.

The national police force confirmed the arrest, stating that the incident allegedly occurred on Monday, July 20, 2026. The Herald initially broke the story regarding the musician’s arrest on Tuesday.

Allegations of Luring and Assault

A source with knowledge of the investigation detailed the events leading up to the alleged crime. The complainant, who had recently returned from South Africa, reportedly connected with Chitsama via social media. The artist allegedly invited her to participate in an upcoming music video.

According to the source, the young girl arrived at an Avondale recording studio around 3:00 PM on Monday, accompanied by a friend. She waited there while the rapper completed his recording session.

Around 6:00 PM, once her friend had departed, the complainant and Chitsama reportedly traveled to the artist’s Hatfield residence under the assumption that they were going to film the music video.

The allegations take a dark turn once they arrived at the house. Police state that the rapper allegedly led the teenager into his bedroom and locked the door from the inside. He is said to have threatened her with violence, specifically threatening to kill her if she resisted, before allegedly raping her. Reports indicate that other individuals were present in the house in a different room during the incident.

Following the alleged assault, the source claims that Chitsama hired a taxi to transport the teenager back to her residence. Upon returning home, the complainant immediately reported the incident to her aunt, who subsequently contacted law enforcement, triggering the artist’s arrest.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi officially verified the details of the case.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of a local musician (27) on allegations of rape involving an 14-year-old complainant in the Hatfield area of Harare on July 20, 2026,” Commissioner Nyathi stated.
