The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has secured a partnership with Ecobank and Innbucks to facilitate the broadcast of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which begins on June 11 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
ZBC Chief Executive Officer Sugar Chagonda described the deal as a significant achievement for the national broadcaster, highlighting its commitment to delivering high-quality and accessible programming to audiences across Zimbabwe.
He noted that football enjoys widespread popularity among Zimbabweans and said the FIFA World Cup provides an important platform for bringing people together, allowing families, friends, and communities to share in the excitement of the global showpiece.
Chagonda also commended Ecobank and Innbucks for supporting the initiative, saying their contribution extends beyond business interests and demonstrates a commitment to fostering national cohesion, entertainment, and memorable experiences for viewers throughout the country.
