Dynamos clinched their third consecutive Chibuku Super Cup title on Saturday after edging Triangle United 1-0 in a tightly contested final at Gibbo Stadium.
Forward Junior Perezo scored the decisive goal, securing the Glamour Boys’ three-peat and capping off a dominant cup run that solidifies their status as the tournament’s modern powerhouse.
However, the victory came at a cost. Dynamos goalkeeper Prince Tafiremutsa sustained a severe injury during the match and had to be taken to a local medical facility by ambulance for further treatment. The nature of the injury was not immediately disclosed.
Club captain Emmanuel Jalai also picked up a knock but soldiered on, delivering a resilient performance that included several critical clearances to keep Triangle United at bay.
Despite being on the losing end, Triangle United midfielder Munashe Bamara impressed throughout the afternoon, dictating play and posing consistent threats to the Dynamos backline.
The win adds another chapter to Dynamos’ storied cup history and underscores their growing dominance in knockout competitions.
