Bulawayo police detectives are working around the clock to bring to book three unknown men who pounced on a miner at his residence and got away with over USD 9 000.
Deputy Provincial Police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu confirmed the developments saying the incident occurred on 28 July 2025 at around 0300 hours.
“Police is investigating a case of armed robbery which occurred at Emganwini, Bulawayo.
“The complainant a male adult aged 39 years of Emganwini was asleep and was woken up by three unknown male adults armed with two pistols,” said Assistant Inspector Ndlovu.
She said the trio who had scaled over a pre-cast wall used an unknown object to cut the window burglar bar and gained entry into the house.
“They threatened to shoot the complainant and demanded cash stating that they knew that the complainant was dealing in mining.
“The complainant surrendered a brown leather bag containing cash which was in the wardrobe.
“Accused persons took out USD 8 720 and ZAR 1 000 from the leather bag, five cellphones and went away on foot in an unknown direction,” said Assistant Inspector Ndlovu.
She appealed to members of the public with information that may lead to the arrest of the accused persons to report to the nearest police station.
