FC Platinum forward Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has drawn attention from top-tier clubs in both South Africa’s Betway Premiership and the Tanzanian Premier League, with his contract set to expire in December.
The 22-year-old has reportedly caught the eye of several South African sides, including Chippa United, AmaZulu, and Stellenbosch. Meanwhile, clubs in Tanzania’s premier division are also said to be closely monitoring the striker, aiming to secure his services.
A source familiar with the situation told Nehanda Radio, “There’s growing interest in Ngwenya, especially from South African clubs. Chippa United, in particular, is eager to sign him—especially now that they’ve parted ways with 18 players. Their chairman has historically shown strong support for Zimbabwean talent.”
AmaZulu and Stellenbosch have also made inquiries, while unnamed Tanzanian teams are believed to be weighing up offers of their own.

This surge in demand comes after Ngwenya’s impressive showing at the 2025 COSAFA Cup in Bloemfontein, where he scored twice in Zimbabwe’s final group stage match against Mozambique. His performances earned him a spot in the tournament’s Best XI for the group stage and the Man of the Match award in that game.
Most recently, Ngwenya found the net again, scoring an equaliser for FC Platinum in a match against Dynamos. The game, however, was abandoned after Dynamos protested a penalty decision awarded to the Zvishavane-based side.
