Zimbabwe has been plunged into mourning following the passing of retired Brigadier General Mark Charles Chimwaza, a respected former senior officer in the Zimbabwe National Army.
The Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumanei, confirmed that Brigadier General Chimwaza died on Saturday at his Kuwadzana home in Harare after a brief illness.
Family members, fellow officers and friends have since converged at his residence, house number 5373 in Kuwadzana 7, to pay their final respects. Details surrounding burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.
