Zimfest Promises a Show of a Lifetime

The organisers of the much touted Zimfest set for tomorrow at Herts Country Showground in the United Kingdom, are promising a show of a lifetime with one of its major highlights being the return of the Piano Republik stage.

This year’s artist line-up includes headline act from Zimbabwe artists Winky D, Saintfloew, Oriyano, Nisha TS, Jah Signal and more.

In an interview with this publication, the organisers proudly stated that over the years, one thing that has stood out consistently for the festival was the power of representation and cultural pride.

“Zimfest has shown us that when we create a space rooted in authenticity, people show up and they show up in numbers,” said Tawanda Chiwira spokesperson for the organisers.

“We have learned how vital it is to uplift upcoming talent alongside established icons, to give small businesses visibility, and to provide a family-friendly, welcoming environment for all.

Most importantly, we have witnessed how music and culture can unite generations and nationalities, creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond the festival grounds.”

Chiwira said the festival was key in cultural exchange and networking hub.

“Zimfest has become a cornerstone for the Zimbabwean diaspora in the UK, serving as both a cultural anchor and a networking hub.

Beyond the festival, we actively support and collaborate with artists, entrepreneurs, and community organisations through year-round promotions, events and digital content that celebrates Zimbabwean excellence.

“Our platform is a space for diaspora voices to shine, spotlighting stories, music releases, and community initiatives that keep the spirit of Zimfest alive throughout the year,” he added.

He said at its heart, Zimfest was more than just a music festival, “it is a vibrant celebration of Zimbabwean culture, unity, and talent.” Adding that “Our goal is for every attendee to leave with a deeper connection to the richness of our heritage, a renewed appreciation for southern African music and art, and unforgettable memories of dancing, laughter, and community.”

Chiwira added that the primary goal for the festival was to inspire pride, spark joy, and remind people – whether from Zimbabwe or beyond – that culture is a powerful bridge that brings us all together.
He said performing artists’ set duration vary with headliners given longer sets averaging 45 minutes to one hour, while emerging artists and genre-specialist perform around 20 to 30 minutes.

Families attending the show are assured of quality time as a dedicated kids zone will be in place with supervised activities, while the venue has auspicious space for a number of activities.

This year’s sponsors include global remittance companies, World Remit, Remitly, Ecocash and Mukuru, as well as Nyaradzo Life Insurance, Diaspora Insurance, Ngoto, Masau Gin,Wiremit, Home Link and Clear Mobitel Connect, My Hippo Store, and Kumusha Hello Pisa.
