UFC Fighter Themba Gorimbo Dines with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Sends Social Media Into Overdrive

Zimbabwean UFC mixed martial artist Themba Gorimbo is overjoyed after being invited to dinner by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Gorimbo had the chance to engage with the President, enjoy a meal together, and even capture some memorable photos.

On his Facebook page, Gorimbo posted a picture of himself alongside President Ramaphosa, who was holding Gorimbo’s championship belt.

In the caption, Gorimbo expressed his excitement about being recognized in South Africa. He also shared that he was invited to dinner by the President, highlighting how incredible it was to meet and interact with him.

“To be honest, a person from Zimbabwe is being recognized in the foreign land of South Africa. I was invited to dinner with the CURRENT SA President. I got to mingle in Xhosa with President Matamela at the table. Thank God.”

The picture quickly went viral, with Zimbabweans on social media expressing their pride in Gorimbo’s achievements. Many celebrated his success and applauded the recognition he received, especially being invited to dine with a prominent figure like President Ramaphosa.

Some users, however, pointed out that Gorimbo was not the only Zimbabwean to be recognized in South Africa, mentioning rugby player Tendai Mtawarira as another example.
