TelOne secured a narrow but important 1–0 victory over Scottland at Rufaro Stadium on Matchday 17, courtesy of a curious second-half strike by Panashe Mutasa that left spectators guessing whether it was a moment of brilliance or good fortune.
The match remained tightly contested in the first half, with both teams struggling to break down each other’s compact defences.
But the deadlock was broken shortly after the restart when Mutasa launched what looked like an intended cross from the right flank.
The ball sailed over the Scottland goalkeeper and dipped perfectly into the far corner of the net, stunning the crowd and giving TelOne the lead.

Scottland pushed for an equaliser in the final stages but couldn’t find a way past TelOne’s disciplined defence. Despite some late pressure, the Gweru-based outfit held on for the three points.
The result moves TelOne further up the league table, while Scottland will be left ruing missed opportunities and a goal they’ll feel could have been prevented.
