Shauwn Mkhize Stays Positive Amid Controversy Surrounding Royal AM
Despite the turmoil surrounding her football club, Royal AM, businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize is focusing on the brighter side of life.
In a recent Instagram Story post, Mkhize, affectionately known as Mam’Mkhize, shared a video of herself dancing and looking cheerful.
She captioned the video: “My side of the story doesn’t matter anymore. Life happened, it hurt, I healed. But the most important thing is that I learned who deserves a place in my life and who will never have a seat again.”
Following the drama surrounding Royal AM, Mkhize last shared a post on Instagram on January 8, addressing the issue of the club being placed under curatorship. However, in recent weeks, she’s been actively updating her Instagram Stories, reassuring her 3.6 million followers that she is doing well.
Amid the turmoil, Mkhize remains focused on the positives, even as Royal AM faces serious financial issues due to an alleged tax debt of R40 million. The South African Revenue Service (SARS) placed the club under curatorship, with Jaco Venter appointed as the curator after the club was seized from Mkhize.
The seizure of the club and the loss of ownership seriously impacted its stability, and the immediate consequences were significant.
Shauwn’s son, Andile Mpisane, who had been made chairman of Royal AM by his mother when she bought him the club for his 19th birthday, has been less active on social media lately. His last Instagram post was in December, on his wife’s birthday. However, on TikTok a week ago, he shared a preview of his new music. His last official music release was a 2022 single titled “Makhwapheni.”
One family member who continues to be active on social media is Andile’s older sister, Sbahle Mpisane, who frequently uses her platform for product promotions and influencing.
