One person has died and two others were seriously injured after a trailer detached from a moving commuter omnibus and struck pedestrians along Plumtree Road in Bulawayo.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident, which occurred at approximately 1:30 PM in the Belmont area.

According to police, the trailer was being towed by a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter carrying one passenger when it became unhitched and veered off course, hitting three pedestrians who were walking at the edge of the road.
