Navaya Open to Betway Premiership Move

Zimbabwean striker Washington Navaya has confirmed he is open to a move to South Africa’s Betway Premiership if suitable offers come his way.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, the recently crowned Zimbabwe Soccer Star of the Year revealed that discussions regarding his future are being handled by his agent, as he is currently focused on national duty.

“I’m with the national team at the moment, so I believe they’ve been communicating with my agent. I’m comfortable with a move if the offer makes sense,” said Navaya.

The 27-year-old forward disclosed that he spent a week on trial with Durban City earlier this year. The KwaZulu-Natal outfit showed interest in signing him but opted to wait for the conclusion of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League season, with the intention of securing him as a free agent.

That move could now materialise after the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where Navaya is part of the Zimbabwe Warriors squad.

Navaya enjoyed an outstanding domestic campaign with TelOne, finishing the season as the league’s leading scorer with 17 goals. His prolific form played a key role in him being named Zimbabwe’s Soccer Star of the Year.
