Man Dies After Love Rival Hits Him With Brick in Bulawayo

A love triangle in Bulawayo turned deadly after a love rivalry was struck with a brick on the forehead following a dispute, and later succumbed to head injuries.

Deputy Police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu said the tragic incident, saying the culprit had been arrested in connection with the matter.

“Police confirm the arrest of Brian Moyo, a male adult aged 25 years of Clark Road Surburbs, Bulawayo.

On the 21 July 2025.

“The now deceased Phumulani Moyo (38) of Clark road Surburbs, and Bulawayo had a misunderstanding with the accused person over a girlfriend.

“The accused person then hit the now deceased with a brick on the forehead and he became unconscious,” said Assistant Inspector Ndlovu.

She said alert neighbors then summoned the ambulance which took the now deceased to the hospital where he was admitted and later succumbed to the injuries on 18 July 2025.

“On the 27 July 2025 a police team was then sent leading to the arrest of the accused person.
Assistant Inspector Ndlovu urged members of the public to desist from violence and try to solve their differences amicably.
