A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a high-value burglary that occurred on June 6, 2025, in Springville, Ruwa, where thieves made off with over US$190,000 in cash and assets.
In an official statement, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi identified the suspect as Blessing Kennes (28). He is accused of breaking into the residence alongside Remember Glademore Fambauone, who is still at large.
The stolen items included US$182,050 in cash, a Samsung S23 Ultra smartphone, a Derya pistol, and two magazines containing 15 rounds.
Commissioner Nyathi provided further details:
“On August 13, 2025, detectives from the CID Homicide unit, acting on a tip-off, tracked and arrested Blessing Kennes in the Tsiga area of Mbare, Harare. This led to the recovery of US$20,250 in cash and the stolen Derya pistol.”
A Toyota Nadia vehicle, believed to have been purchased using proceeds from the crime, was also seized.
Investigations further revealed that Fambauone allegedly used the stolen funds to:

Purchase a Nissan NV350 for US$14,300

Give US$5,600 to his mother for safekeeping in Mhundirwa Village, Rusape
To date, law enforcement has managed to recover a combined total of US$55,150 in cash and assets linked to the burglary.
The ZRP is now appealing to the public for any information that may assist in locating Fambauone. Those with information are urged to contact the National Complaints Desk at (0242) 703631, via WhatsApp at 0712 800 197, or report to the nearest police station.
