Zanu PF Expels Central Committee Member Blessed Geza Over Calls for Mnangagwa’s Resignation

Outspoken war veteran Blessed “Bombshell” Geza has strongly cautioned Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Commissioner General Stephen Mutamba against using force on citizens exercising their right to protest.

Speaking in an interview with HStv, Geza emphasized that no Zimbabwean should be arrested for demonstrating and warned that war veterans would intervene if the police resorted to such actions.

He underscored that the right to protest is a fundamental freedom, secured through the sacrifices of many Zimbabweans who fought for the country’s liberation. Geza stated via The Mirror:

“Take this as a warning, Mutamba. If we hear that anyone has been arrested for exercising their constitutional rights, you will see our response. If we learn that someone has been shot for protesting—rights that thousands sacrificed their lives for—there will be consequences. Do not let personal relationships or political influence dictate your actions. This warning extends to all security forces, particularly the police.”

Geza also criticized the increasing number of roadblocks across the country, cautioning Mutamba against turning Zimbabwe into a police state.

He is among a group of war veterans openly opposing ZANU PF’s attempts to amend the Constitution and postpone the 2028 elections, which could extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rule until 2030.
