Four Dead, Including Infant, in Tragic Chinhoyi Highway Collision
Four people, among them a baby, lost their lives instantly on Sunday evening following a devastating head-on collision between a private vehicle and a haulage truck just outside Chinhoyi.
The fatal accident occurred near the Bhutsu area along the Chinhoyi-Harare highway. According to reports, the crash happened when a private car attempted to overtake and collided directly with an oncoming truck.
Sources revealed that the deceased included a man, a young mother, her infant daughter, and their domestic worker. The group was reportedly traveling from Chinhoyi to Banket when the tragedy struck.
The driver, identified only as Danny, was said to have been helping a friend by driving his wife, child, and maid between the two towns.
Efforts to get a comment from Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Mashonaland West provincial spokesperson, Inspector Ian Kohwera, were unsuccessful at the time of publication.
