Fists Fly in the Classroom
A Gwai female teacher went on the rampage and brutally assaulted a grade seven pupil for misbehaving.
Court records state that Shyleen Nenduva (27), is employed as a teacher at a primary school in Gwai.
NPA said she was arraigned before the Hwange Magistrates’ Court for assault.
“On the 9 July 2025 at around 1000 hours at a Primary School in Gwai, the victim (15), a grade 7 student was misbehaving outside the classroom where the offender cautioned him.
“A misunderstanding then ensued between the victim and the offender.
“The offender assaulted the victim by hitting him several times with a wooden stick on the back once with a fist on the chest and pushing him onto a desk causing him to land on the ground and the victim sustained a swollen and painful right elbow,” said NPA.
She was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment of which six months were suspended for five years.
“The remaining nine months were suspended on the condition that the offender performs 315 hours of community service.”
