Blessed Mhlanga Reports to Police After National Manhunt Call

Alpha Media Holdings senior reporter Blessed Mhlanga has surrendered himself to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Law and Order division at Harare Central Police Station.

His surrender follows a statement by national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi last week, announcing a manhunt for Mhlanga. Authorities accuse him of distributing material deemed harmful to the state, allegedly violating Section 164 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.

The case stems from Mhlanga’s recent interview with Zanu PF central committee member and war veteran Blessed Geza, who issued an ultimatum for President Emmerson Mnangagwa to step down.

Mhlanga had been unable to report to the police last week due to illness.
