In a scandal that has sent shockwaves through the corridors of State House, Kelsea Tadiwa Tafirenyika, the 22-year-old fiancée of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s twin son Collins, has been arrested in a major drug bust at her Greystone Park home in Harare.

The operation unfolded on the evening of August 4, 2026, when detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Drugs and Narcotics Unit executed a raid at 4 Edgehill Close, Greystone Park . Acting on intelligence that Tafirenyika was peddling pethidine—a powerful synthetic opioid also known as meperidine—from her residence, police arrived at the property around 8:00 PM .
According to the remand document, officers found the 22-year-old socialite in her bedroom, allegedly in the process of counting ampoules. The subsequent search of her room yielded a staggering haul of controlled substances: 82 ampoules of Pethidine (a mix of Fresenius and Verpat brands) and 50 ampoules of Morphine Sulphate .
The search did not stop at the bedroom. Detectives proceeded to examine a white Lamborghini parked on the property, where they discovered five rolls of cannabis concealed in the driver’s side armrest . The estimated street value of the seized drugs was reported to be approximately US$204 .
Following the discovery of the illicit substances, Tafirenyika was arrested on the spot and charged with unlawfully dealing in dangerous drugs under Section 156(1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act . She was subsequently taken to the CID Drugs and Narcotics offices before appearing before Harare Magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa on Wednesday, August 5, where she was remanded in custody pending a bail ruling .
The arrest is particularly damaging because of Tafirenyika’s intimate connection to the country’s ruling family. She is the fiancée of Collins Mnangagwa, the twin son of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and First Lady Auxillia . Collins, whose Shona name is Takunda, is a prominent figure in his own right, serving as an electrical engineer and a top executive for gold mining companies, including ZIMCN Investments and Chenxi Investments .
The relationship between Collins and Kelsea has been the subject of intense public scrutiny. While Collins celebrated a lavish 10-year vow renewal with his first wife, Linet, in 2023, his ties to Kelsea have been equally public. By late 2024, leaked romantic photos surfaced showing Collins in intimate poses with Tafirenyika, leading to reports that he had secretly married her as a second wife .
