Ziko – Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe – The tranquil community of Ziko has been plunged into grief and fear following the discovery of three bodies, including that of a young local hairdresser, Panashe, whose remains were found on Tuesday evening. The incidents have prompted a full investigation by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).

Reports indicate that Panashe was last seen alive on Monday night, reportedly walking home from her workplace. Her sudden disappearance raised no immediate alarm until residents made a distressing discovery the following day.

Sources close to the investigation have revealed that two other individuals also met their untimely demise on the same night. Their bodies were reportedly located in separate areas within the vicinity on Tuesday morning, bringing the total number of fatalities to three.

The discovery of Panashe’s body occurred later on Tuesday evening. Residents engaged in routine grass burning near their homes stumbled upon her remains amidst the vegetation, leading to a scene of profound shock and sorrow.

A local resident, who wished to remain anonymous, described the harrowing moment: “People were burning grass when someone suddenly noticed a body lying nearby. Everyone was shocked when it became clear it was a young woman from the community.”

Police officers swiftly responded to the scene, securing the area and transporting the body for forensic examination to ascertain the cause of death and gather further evidence.

The tragic events have cast a pall of apprehension over Ziko. Another resident voiced the community’s deep-seated anxiety: “Three people losing their lives in one night is frightening. We are hoping police will quickly establish what happened and bring those responsible to justice.”

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the launch of comprehensive investigations into the circumstances surrounding these deaths.
