Tshedi Malaika Set to Headline Star-Studded Weekend Fundraising Concert in Harare

South African Afro-pop sensation Tshedi Mholo, popularly known as Tshedi Malaika, is set to touch down in Harare on Friday, 5 September 2025, for a jam-packed weekend of music, charity, and mentorship.

The award-winning singer will share the stage with Zimbabwean Urban Grooves legends Plaxedes Wenyika and Pauline of Mafriq fame, alongside Bryan K.

The lineup will be supported by some of the country’s most respected DJs, including DJ Storm, Tich Mataz, Take 5 from the Chamhembe music collective, and members of the Judgement Yard family.

The main event — a cervical cancer fundraising concert — is scheduled for Saturday, 6 September at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale. Organizers say the concert aims to raise awareness and support for cervical cancer initiatives in Zimbabwe.

Ahead of the concert, fans will have an opportunity to interact with Malaika and fellow performers at a meet-and-greet dinner to be hosted at The Grub Restaurant, 30 Glenara Avenue South, Eastlea on Friday evening.

The event will include a special pre-show teaser and ticket giveaways for the fundraising concert.

Following the main event, an official after-party will be held at Keraton Restaurant and Club, located at 32 Golden Stairs in Mt Pleasant, where DJ Storm and Tich Mataz will return to the decks, joined by other local greats for a night of old-school and Urban Grooves hits.

The weekend’s festivities will take a philanthropic turn on Sunday, as Tshedi Malaika and her team visit a children’s home in Waterfalls. There, the artist will donate goods and offer mentorship focused on navigating the African entertainment industry—particularly empowering young girls and women.

To round off the visit, Malaika is expected to make a public appearance at a family-friendly show hosted at Steve Margolis Resort on Sunday afternoon, with entertainment continuing into the evening. She is scheduled to depart Zimbabwe on Monday morning.

Organizers say the weekend celebrates both music and community, blending entertainment with causes that matter.
