Simbisa Brands Executives Face Sexual Harassment Allegations

Fast-food giant Simbisa Brands is currently grappling with serious sexual harassment accusations directed at senior personnel, with reports indicating they exploited their positions to pursue inappropriate relationships with junior employees.

According to a recently leaked internal report reviewed by NewZimbabwe.com, multiple senior managers based in Gweru have been named by staff members in connection with various forms of sexual misconduct.

Among those implicated is Bekezela Sibanda, the Gweru operations manager, who was accused of making unsolicited romantic advances toward subordinates, whose identities have been withheld for their protection.

One employee reported that Sibanda made inappropriate comments about colleagues’ bodies—behavior deemed by the report as constituting sexual harassment.

The same report revealed troubling claims that Sibanda repeatedly made physical advances on a female employee in his office.

“There is a particular incident where a female staffer stated that Bekezela forcibly pulled her into his embrace and tried to kiss her multiple times,” the report noted.

Allegations also suggest that Sibanda used his influence to request sexual favors in exchange for job transfers or promotions.

In addition to the harassment claims, Sibanda was accused of misusing company meal vouchers. The report cited cases where expired voucher books—such as those from October 2024—were used in April 2025. It also highlighted irregularities, such as vouchers lacking proper dates or signatures.

The leaked document further named Chicken Inn Franchise area manager Mthulisi Moyo in connection with an alleged love triangle involving two other managers, raising additional concerns about workplace conduct.

Following an internal investigation, Simbisa Brands found Sibanda in breach of its workplace sexual conduct policy and subsequently terminated his employment.

Attempts to reach Sibanda for comment were unsuccessful, as he had not responded to inquiries by the time this story was published.
