Rejuvenated Grassroots Engagement: Minister Ezra Chadzamira Leads ZANU PF Cell Day

In a significant demonstration of grassroots mobilisation and organisational renewal, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Masvingo, Honorable Ezra Chadzamira, presided over the ZANU PF National Cell Day engagements across the province.

The events, held on January 31, 2026, marked a pivotal moment in the ruling party’s strategy to strengthen its foundational structures and enhance direct communication between the leadership and the electorate.

Minister Chadzamira’s participation was headlined by his visit to the Diso Compound in Mashava, Ward 5 of Masvingo West, where he joined local party members for a rigorous cell verification process. This exercise is part of a broader national initiative aimed at ensuring the integrity of the party’s membership database and fostering a sense of belonging among the rank and file. During his address to the gathered members, Honorable Chadzamira emphasised a paradigm shift in the party’s operational philosophy. He advocated for a move away from “armchair leadership,” urging officials to immerse themselves in the communities they serve.

This rejuvenated engagement is designed to ensure that the party remains responsive to the immediate needs and aspirations of the people

“The strength of ZANU PF lies in its cells. We are here to listen, to verify and to ensure that every member is accounted for and heard.

“Our leadership must be felt on the ground, not just in offices,” Minister Chadzamira remarked during the Mashava engagement.

Honourable Chadzamira said that the Cell Day is not merely a procedural requirement but a strategic tool for grassroots empowerment.

By engaging directly with the cells, the party leadership aims to identify local challenges and integrate them into the provincial development agenda, particularly as the nation transitions into the critical years of the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2).

The engagements across Masvingo Province focused on several key thematic areas.

He said the day focussed on Area description strategic objective membership, verification auditing and updating the party’s cell registers to ensure accurate data.

“Organisational integritygrassroots f eedbackcollecting first-hand reports on community needs and local grievances.

“Responsive governance unity and mobilization reinforcing the party’s ideology and preparing for future electoral cycles.

“Political stability development alignment linking local cell activities to provincial and national development goals (NDS2)”

Minister Chadzamira’s tour of the province also served to reinforce the connection between party activities and the government’s broader economic objectives.

He noted that a rejuvenated ZANU PF is essential for the successful implementation of projects under Vision 2030, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy. In Masvingo, this translates to a focus on irrigation schemes, mining revitalisation in areas like Mashava, and the completion of key infrastructure projects. The Minister’s presence at the Diso Compound, a community historically linked to the mining sector, showed the government’s commitment to revitalising industrial hubs through political and social stability.Conclusion.

The National Cell Day in Masvingo Province, led by Honorable Ezra Chadzamira, has set a new tone for political engagement in the region.

By prioritizing the “cell” as the heartbeat of the party, the leadership has signaled a commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous dialogue.

As the province moves forward, the emphasis on rejuvenated engagement is expected to play a crucial role in maintaining the party’s dominance and ensuring the effective delivery of developmental promises to the people of Masvingo.
