More than 30 000 women attended the final Doek and Slay concert of 2025 at Glamis Arena, organisers report. Hosted by DJ Butterfly and Lexxy, the event featured a strict dress code of earth-toned outfits and doeks, creating a coordinated visual display.
The women-only gathering aims to provide attendees with a space to relax, network, and celebrate female empowerment through music and fashion. Local designers and boutiques reported increased sales ahead of the event, highlighting the economic impact of the concert.
Event management officials said security and crowd control were effectively handled despite the large turnout. Attendees praised the smooth entry process and safe environment.
Performances included Nisha Ts, Intotal Band, Jah Signal, Baba Harare, Jah Prayzah, and sungura legend Alick Macheso. A brief rain shower did not disrupt proceedings, with attendees continuing to dance throughout the day.
Event organisers, NAMA award-winning Event Hulks, described the concert as the largest women-only music gathering in Zimbabwe for the year and noted plans to continue expanding it in future editions.
