NetOne’s Subscriber Base and Data Traffic Soar in Q4 2025, POTRAZ Confirms

Harare, Zimbabwe – NetOne is increasingly instrumental in propelling Zimbabwe’s digital transformation, as evidenced by the latest Fourth Quarter 2025 Postal and Telecommunications Sector Performance Report from the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ).

The report underscores NetOne’s significant contributions through robust infrastructure expansion, a surge in data consumption, and enhanced rural connectivity.

The POTRAZ report indicates substantial growth in NetOne’s mobile internet and data traffic during the last quarter of 2025. Data usage escalated by 18.50 percent, climbing from 25.29 billion megabytes in the third quarter to 29.97 billion megabytes in Q4. This expansion also led to a 1.14 percentage point increase in NetOne’s market share for mobile internet and data traffic, solidifying its competitive standing within the nation’s rapidly evolving digital communications landscape.

Furthermore, NetOne’s active subscriber base experienced a notable rise, growing from 4,062,894 to 4,101,492 subscribers within the quarter. This upward trend reflects sustained customer confidence in the operator’s diverse services and digital offerings. POTRAZ commended the company’s continuous investment in network infrastructure, particularly its efforts to broaden broadband access across Zimbabwe.

“NetOne continued to make strides particularly in 3G and LTE deployments, to expand its network coverage,” the report highlighted. During the quarter, NetOne successfully deployed an additional 89 LTE base stations and expanded its 5G sites from 21 to 26, reinforcing its commitment to improving connectivity and fostering digital inclusion throughout the country.

Significantly, the report identifies NetOne as a primary contributor to rural telecommunications infrastructure, now managing 46.14 percent of Zimbabwe’s rural base stations. This expansion of rural connectivity is crucial in bridging the digital divide, providing improved access to essential services such as online learning, financial services, healthcare information, and digital commerce opportunities for previously underserved communities.

NetOne has also broadened its customer-focused initiatives by introducing affordable broadband packages, enhanced OneMoney solutions, and specialized data bundles tailored for students, entrepreneurs, and rural communities. Beyond its core telecommunications services, the company has intensified its corporate social responsibility programs, which include borehole drilling initiatives, providing digital learning tools to schools, and collaborating with healthcare institutions on community wellness programs.

The operator’s commitment to diversity is also evident in its workforce, where women constitute 436 of its 1,045 employees. In recognition of his exemplary leadership and significant contributions to Zimbabwe’s telecommunications industry, Engineer Mushanawani was recently inducted into the prestigious Business Leaders Hall of Fame 2026.
