Hon. Zivai Mhetu Showcases Road Rehabilitation Funded by CDF
A Parliament delegation visited Epworth North on September 3, 2025, where Hon. Zivai Mhetu showcased development projects funded through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The visit was part of Parliament’s oversight role, aimed at promoting accountability and transparency in the management of public resources.
During the tour, Hon. Mhetu highlighted that part of the CDF allocation had been used to rehabilitate three roads in the constituency, which had long been in a poor state.
“The road upgrade has already improved accessibility for residents and local businesses,” said Hon. Mhetu.

The CDF, which is designed to ensure that communities directly benefit from locally driven development, has become a vital tool for improving service delivery and addressing grassroots needs.
Hon. Mhetu added, “Such projects demonstrate how the fund empowers communities to shape their own development priorities.”
Lawmakers who accompanied the visit commended the initiative, noting that the CDF promotes inclusive growth, strengthens service delivery, and fosters trust between citizens and their elected representatives.
The oversight team further stressed the importance of prudent financial management, underscoring that funds must be used efficiently to deliver visible and lasting improvements in people’s lives.
