Gutu, Zimbabwe — A tragic road accident on the Chatsworth-Kurai Road in Gutu claimed the lives of four people on March 30, 2025. The incident occurred around 3:00 PM when a Toyota Noah vehicle, carrying seven passengers, lost control, veered off the road, and overturned.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the fatalities and reported that four other individuals survived the crash but sustained injuries. The survivors were transported to Gutu Mission Hospital for medical treatment, while the deceased were taken to the hospital’s mortuary for post-mortem procedures.
The police statement detailed that the vehicle swerved to the left before flipping and landing on its roof, though further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash.
In a separate incident, three foreign nationals were killed, and 15 others injured when a bus traveling from Malawi overturned along the Harare-Chirundu Road on March 30, 2025, at approximately 4:50 PM. The bus, which was carrying 119 passengers, swerved off the road after the driver attempted to avoid colliding with a recovery vehicle hauling a damaged truck from an earlier accident.
The ZRP confirmed the fatalities and the injuries, stating that the bus overturned and landed on its left side. The injured passengers were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment. The authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
