The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe is excited to announce that the 23rd edition of the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) will take place on March 1, 2025, at the Harare Hippodrome, marking the first time the prestigious event will be held at this venue.
In selecting the Harare Hippodrome, the NAMA organizers aimed to find a location that resonates with the theme of this year’s event, #afrofuturism, and they believe the venue will serve as the perfect backdrop for a night of artistic celebration.
The event will feature a vibrant lineup of performances, continuing NAMA’s tradition of highlighting diverse forms of artistry. Among the confirmed artists are:

- Shashl
- Atenda Chinx
- Bagga
- Sylent Nqo
- Probeatz
- Misheck Mahendere
- Joyfull Praise Choir
- The Choice Children’s Choir
- Denilson the Saxophonist

In addition to musical performances, the event will showcase a variety of artistic disciplines, including dance, theatre, film, television, and spoken word, underscoring NAMA’s dedication to recognizing all forms of creative expression.
